Tahoe!

Mike and Cheryl took Shon and Francis and us to Tahoe with them.

We all share the month of September for our anniversary month.

Friday night we went out to dinner, then headed over to the Lone Eagle.

We had so much fun.

Saturday was just a relaxing day at the pool. The kids love being with each other. Well I think Colton just loves the attention from the girls.

Then after a very filling Italian dinner, we headed back to the Lone Eagle to listen to the music and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Sunday morning we just had to stop for lunch at Sunnyside. It is a must do when you are in Tahoe. The weather was beautiful and the company was wonderful!!!

Miracle

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet. She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully.Three times, even. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap,she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door. She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment. Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffingnoise.Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!'And what do you want?' the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages,' he said without waiting for a reply to his question.'Well, I want to talk to you about my brother,' Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. 'He's really, really sick .. and I want to buy amiracle.''I beg your pardon?' said the pharmacist.'His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his headand my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miraclecost?''We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help you,' the pharmacist said, softening a little. 'Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will getthe rest. Just tell me how much it costs.'The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down andasked the little girl, 'What kind of a miracle does your brother need?'' I don't know,' Tess replied with her eyes welling up.. 'I just knowhe's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money.''How much do you have?' asked the man from Chicago .'One dollar and eleven cents,' Tess answered barely audibly.'And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to.''Well, what a coincidence,' smiled the man.. 'A dollar and eleven cents -the exact price of a miracle for little brothers.'He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped hermitten and said 'Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meetyour parents. Let's see if I have the mirac le you need.'That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.'That surgery,' her Mom whispered. 'was a real miracle I wonder how much it would have cost?'Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost ... one dollarand eleven cents plus the faith of a little child. In our lives, we never k now how many miracles we will need.A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law.

Fallen Leaf Lake

Last weekend we took on the daunting task of going camping with an infant. Colton loves being outside, so we thought this would be great for him. We had several of our friends there and they all had kids too.

As night fell we learned that Colton is a schedule kind of guy. He had a hard time sleeping in the great outdoors. Maybe the huge bear that wondered into our camp sight both nights made him uneasy too. Gratefully we had the mind to put away everything, but our neighbors weren't as lucky. The first night the bear got into their ice chest and ate everything. Scotty woke up to a bear staring at him as he relieved himself next to the tree. Luckily the bear was uninterested in in the human kind or was too full to give much attention to Scotty.

The water was undrinkable so we had to improvise. Here is Cari, and I showing off our drink alternative. And yes Scotty took on the lovely chore of dishes! Thanks Scotty, your a life saver.

This was great fun, and Colton really enjoyed his days of watching the trees sway in the wind.

We can not wait for next year when Colton will be running around making us crazy in the dirt.

Pebble Beach

So Colton is going to be a pro golfer! Well he loves golf. He like to watch it on Tv with his G-Pa, AKA Justin's Dad. I find it odd, but then again I am a female. So when to opportunity came up to meet G-Ma and G-Pa, AKA Mike and Cheryl at Pebble Beach we jumped on it. We called my brother Jason and Tara to see if they would like to meet us for dinner, by the way that was a random thought because they live 3 hours from Monterey. And they were already there!

So we hurried on down to to meet them before they drove home. We all go together and had a casual dinner and laughed and enjoyed each other as we always do.

We took Colton to the beach for the first time. I thought he would love it. But the kids playing on the beach seemed way more entertaining than the big blue ocean in the back ground. The next day we meet Mike and Cheryl at Pebble Beach Golf Course and had a wonderful lunch. Not sure if everyone else in the club house enjoyed their lunch, because Colton did not seem to want to be inside. So Justin's Dad took Colton to the putting green. He was an angle.

He loved watching the guys hit that little white ball into the hole. He has got to have talent, or at least interest. A mom can only dream to have her son enjoy a non contact sport! It was a fun weekend! We love seeing our family and Colton makes everything anything but boring!

Swimming

It finally got hot enough to take our little man into the pool. We were so excited because he LOVES the water. Plus with his fair skin, just like my mother's, we only had about 30 minutes max, in the sun. And that is with sunscreen. So I tried to get as many pictures as possible...... He is so much fun!
